How anguished my heart is while his is cold
A love that caused malady to my body and mind
How do I hush up such a love that caused my body to fade
whereas the hypocrites in their claim of his love lied
If we all share the same love of his bright forehead
I wish he would accordingly among us his gratitude divide
I witnessed his wisdom when his sword in its scabbard
And his acts when swords were in blood immersed
In both cases he acted in the best manner ever a human would
And he proved how good acts can be well-advised
You missed the enemy that from you fled
Partially bad that you missed and partially good that he survived
The dread of you acted on your behalf instead
Giving you the solemnity that even courage couldn't extend
You obliged yourself to render them no place to hide
A commitment by which a triumphant doesn't have to abide
Whenever you defeated an army that retreated and fled
Your soldiers then followed and wiped out what remained
Your duty is to defeat them in every battlefield
And you bear no shame if they your combat do avoid
Or is it for a remarkable victory that you look forward
When heads from bodies by bright blades are disjoined
You are the most fair to all except to my deed
You are the opponent and the judge who my trial does preside
I deem it impossible that you make a true regard
Mistaking the healthy body for that filled with tumoral wad
What use of man's sight can be made
If he does alike view light and shade
All those whom our assembly did include
Will realize that I am the best ever a foot would guide
I sleep in peace leaving the secrets my works shade
To others who spend the nights debating over what they hide
An ignorant whose ignorance prolonged upon my disregard
Until with my courage and wit, his soul I deprived
If you ever come across a lion with its teeth bared
Assume not that the lion at you has smiled
When the intention of a man was to see me dead
But I killed him secured by the horseback I did ride
A swift horse that whose legs seem one and its hands a hand
Responds duly without having the rider use his hand or a goad
Holding my sharp sword amid the two legions I strode
when I stroke, waves of death among them did collide
I am well known to horses, night, and the deserted wild
As well to the spear, pen, papers and the sword
In wilds, I faced the monster alone and self-assured
In an act which even high mountains it did dumbfound
You! Whom it is hard for us to leave behind
We realized that everything without you is absurd
Had you taken heed of my love and gratitude
You wouldn't have found more worthful than me to reward
Has the reason been is what enviers to you have conveyed
Then no pain a wound shall cause if it makes you satisfied
Have you considered the relation we have had
As relations for the wise are obligations to which he shall abide
You won't find any fault in me no matter how you tried
Allah forbids such attempts and are undesired by the kind
My honour is irreproachable and I am with viceless pride
I am the Pleiades while others are weak and old
I wish that I was spared the thunderbolt of the cloud
And only rained with its graces and bestowed
Departing you makes me cross distances of land
That even the swift and wide paced camel can't stand
Have I left to Egypt passing by Dameer to my right side
Those whom I bid farewell will surely for my leaving feel sad
If you have left a people who your departure didn't mind
Then they who've lost you and it's you whom they mislaid
The worst profit a person makes is that to him shame does yield
And the most gloomy place is where no friend to find
The ever worst hunting my palm has attained
Is that with which by the vile and worthless I was shared
How silly the poetry is that uttered by a bland
Whose poetry is nor by Arabs or even by Persians recognized
This is my admonition to you, true and fond
It is pearly composed, but in words compiled
